Meet Nicole Forcadela:

Nicole Forcadela (or "Nicka") is a singer from the Philippines. She sings regularly on her Twitch channel both from home and with some live appearances. Nicole is usually the fun person parading with koalas. Nicole's fans are called as "Nickanatics." She has been singing just about most of her entire life, stemming from four years old or so. The ability to convey messages and have you latch on to each note and each verse she sings is paramount to what makes Nicole Forcadela such an excellent singer.

On the live show circuit, Nicole Forcadela sings at a popular grand hotel in Manila, Philippines. This is where Nicole/Nicka is all dolled up and elegant singing her heart out. She brings the same great singing style from her home shows to her live gigs. However, she is a bit more professional and focused when performing these live gigs. The two situations are different, but Nicole knows how to entertain crowds. Most of all, she brings a "good vibes only" kind of personality filled with positivity and charm. This often times includes Nicole offering positive thoughts after singing certain songs.

I discovered Nicole Forcadela on Twitch recommendations. I visited her channel when not Followed, and I thought she was very cool, so I offered a Follow. I love her humorous and lighthearted personality she brings to her streams. Outside of the live gigs she takes part in, most of her regular streams follow a certain color theme. These streams usually have a certain background color in which even Nicole wears an outfit of a certain color to match. The most special color to her regular streams is purple/violet, since it was the first color she themed her stream after.

As a singer, Nicole Forcadela delivers a bold singing voice and a sassy style. She sings very well. In her in real life gigs, the lighthearted style becomes more serious, yet Nicole still delivers a fabulous singing performance while being all dolled up. Nicole knows how to entertain or make you smile. I think you should visit Nicole's Twitch channel to hear her singing and to take in her eccentric personality. Nicole/Nicka, I enjoy watching your streams and hearing you sing. You are one of the most expressive and eccentric personalities online, and you do a fabulous job with your work. Molang

A South Korean artist made Molang, an adorable cartoon series that is fun for both children and adults. Molang is a bunny, and Piu Piu is a chick. Both engage in fun and unforgettable adventures. Molang is an adorable chubby bunny who engages in many different adventures. Molang's best friend is Piu Piu, a chick. Both Molang and Piu Piu take part in activities together and have fun. Everything from meeting new creatures to engaging in certain activities are all done cutely and with a great bit of humor. The popularity of this series has been seen across media outlets in France, the United Kingdom, and its native South Korea. In the United States, Molang is shown on Disney Junior. Molang was all created by its South Korean main creator, Hye-Je Yoon. She has been working on Molang for the better part of ten years. The main developer of Molang is the French firm Millimages. There have been a lot of Molang cartoons over the years ranging from separate videos to the TV series. Molang goods have also been popular among many fans. These range from toys to apparel.

I discovered Molang from YouTube recommendations. I saw one of Molang's videos and became instantly hooked. It was the cuteness of Molang and Piu Piu that have made me appreciate and admire their wonderful character. Since Molang videos on YouTube are listed under YouTube Kids, you are unable to add these videos to any playlists or able to view them in a mini player. Even still, Molang videos are very entertaining.

What makes Molang so fun is that their cuteness helps provide a fun and joy-bringing atmosphere. Almost as if these cartoons provide an escape from the world's issues. Even the marketing of Molang suggests it deliver happiness and joy to all. Needless to say, Molang delivers solidly in these departments.

Some have debated whether Molang and Piu Piu are male or female. For the most part, both main characters are genderless. However, the Molang Wiki suggested Molang is a gay male bunny. The Wikipedia entry on Molang uses "they/them" as pronouns for Molang and Piu Piu.

Even for a very friendly cartoon for kids, Molang is also very fun for... big kids, so to speak. Molang has a level of appeal and cuteness that will no doubt bring a smile to your face. The world's woes seem to go away as you are delved into a world of happiness and charm that is just too adorable to pass up on. In fact, I am almost starting to believe Molang may be more adorable and fun than even when I first became fond of Pusheen the Cat. As if the video preview I provided in the previous section wasn't enough, I think you will enjoy Molang once you start watching the different cartoons and features. Molang truly is happiness and joy for all ages- let alone just for children.

TV Judges

All rise! This court is now in session. The Honorable Judge is presiding. Please be seated. Judges on TV try to settle certain lawsuits in small claims court. This blog post looks at some of the many judges on TV all-time. This was inspired by Judge Judy recently announcing her retirement. It will not be a comprehensive list, but it is my own TV judge list. I wanted to blog about this topic for a long while, but I never completed a post on it until now.

TV Judges

---

When it comes to various disputes, you have your Plaintiffs and your Defendants. A lot of cases heard by judges can range from fairly simple to otherworldly outrageous. Some defendants even file countersuits against plaintiffs. Only one entity can settle matters- the judge. Or in some court shows, more than one judge. Once the gavel drops with one side being awarded the win (unless a case is dismissed), justice and resolution are served.

Let's talk TV judges! The entries are either the names of shows or the judges' names themselves. Let's begin with the one I mentioned in the intro.

Judge Judy.

Judge Judith Sheindlin is the most no-nonsense judge ever. Over 25 years of her hit show, Judge Judy will get to the bottom of issues and not play around in determining who gets what settlement. It is not a good idea to speak when she speaks. Judge Judy has no problem getting into the minds of litigants and having a tell-it-like-it-is mentality.

Hot Bench.

Hot Bench is a show that is too good for one judge to moderate. In fact, three judges converge to try to settle any number of issues. Justice is then served three-fold. Various judges may fill the available seats to oversee cases. Let me show you a sample of Hot Bench; and unfortunately, this is the best example I could find:

Power of Attorney.

"Power of Attorney" was a different kind of judge show in that there were attorneys offering an extra edge in helping clients get the sort of legal compensation they seek. Basically, it is the attorney usually asking the tough questions rather than the judge trying to be judge, jury, and execution. I provided this video to demonstrate what "Power of Attorney" was all about when it aired on TV:

Justice for All.

The judge show "Justice for All" is run by Judge Cristina Perez. She delivers a bold and empowering sense of justice with cases overheard in her court. The show has gained some notoriety when the former bailiff of the show, Renard Spivey was arrested for a domestic violence incident of killing his wife, Patricia Spivey, after an argument. Renard Spivey was once a Harris Country sheriff deputy. Here is a sample of "Justice For All" below:

Divorce Court.

I feel dumb here researching this topic and forgetting all about "Divorce Court!" I tend to recall Judge Mayblean Ephriam as the judge of this show. Later installments would have Lynn Toler as the judge. Divorce Court was all about couples in crisis seeking divorce for any sort of reasons or infidelities among couples. Did you know "Divorce Court" is about as old as 1987? I saw one video of "Divorce Court" that dates back to 1987 as I was researching this topic. Never knew this show lasted THIS long! Judge Jerry.

Yes- Jerry... as in Jerry Springer. THAT Jerry Springer. Judge Jerry is one of the youngest judge shows on TV. I knew Jerry Springer used to be the mayor of Cincinnati. However, I didn't know he used to be a lawyer. While you may not see some of the usual guests on past installments of "The Jerry Springer Show," you will get to see Jerry Springer handle cases with his own personality and charm. You'll see that personality permeate within others on his show. Judge Jerry also has a different level of seriousness going from a daytime talk show host to a television judge. Judge Mathis.

Judge Greg Mathis is a native of Detroit, Michigan, USA. He is a powerful and empowering judge overhearing a number of court cases. How powerful? Let me show you- here is a powerful, passionate case on one episode of "Judge Mathis" below:

Judge Joe Brown.

It's Joe time! Judge Joe Brown is an old-school, old-fashioned judge that gets to the bottom of several court cases. He once served among the Tennessee court circuit. Here is a sample of Judge Joe Brown and his no-nonsense style of justice:

Judge Mills Lane.

Time to profile Judge Mills Lane. Or for some people- that judge that refereed Tyson-Holyfield in 1997. Or for some other people- "Let's Get it On!" on MTV's "Celebrity Deathmatch." Mills Lane is best known as a boxing referee. He gained fame refereeing the controversial fight between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield in 1997. He had his own show on TV outside of his referee duties. Check out this sample:

Judge Alex.

Welcome to the courtroom of Judge Alex Ferrer. He was a Cuban immigrant to America that also served as part of the Florida Circuit Court. This is a sample of Alex Ferrer and his work:

"Judge Hatchett" and "The Verdict With Judge Hatchett."

The courtroom of Judge Glenda Hatchett is one of the more interesting court shows which offers unique levels of resolution from various cases. Judge Hatchett has a lot of personality and a great heart. She has been solid in her judging ranging from "Judge Hatchett" to the newer "The Verdict With Judge Hatchett." Judge Faith.

Meet beautiful-yet-tough judge, Judge Faith Jenkins. She has served as a prosecutor in New York City as well as a legal analyst for cable news. Here is a sample of one court case on her show:

Judge Pirro.

"Judge Pirro" is run by Judge Jeanine Pirro. For a sample of her brand of justice, peep this video:

Lauren Lake's Paternity Court.

Imagine taking paternity drama of daytime talk shows and then settling matters on a judge show. That basically describes "Paternity Court" with Judge Lauren Lake. Each show ends with a paternity test result to settle matters. Here is a sample episode of "Paternity Court":

Couples Court.

Here is a court ruled by two judges. Meet Judge Dana Cutler and Keith Cutler. Together, they hear cases involving couples in regards to infidelity and other issues. The majority of discussed cases are mostly lighthearted. An episode of "Couples Court" can be seen here:

Texas Justice.

Judge Larry Joe Doherty is all about Texas Justice. This was a show that aired on the FOX networks. There are a lot of serious cases on "Texas Justice." However, there are also some lighthearted and entertaining moments that break apart from the seriousness of these court cases. So there's a little of everything in Texas Justice. If I'm not mistaken, the cases were filmed and held here in Houston for this show. Check this out:

Moral Court.

The focus of Moral Court is on determining who was morally correct with any number of issues. I always known Moral Court to be run by Judge Larry Elder. The party who wins the court case is awarded money. If the loser is morally "wrong," the winner gets $500 USD. If the loser is morally "offensive," the winner gets $1,000 USD. And if the loser is morally "outrageous," the winner is awarded the maximum- $2,000 USD. Some cases have even been dismissed on the show. You can't fault this show for being unique and trying different ideas. Let me provide you a sample of "Moral Court." Check it:

America's Court.

I have never heard of "America's Court," nor have I ever seen what it was like until I did my research of this topic. "America's Court" is ruled by Judge Kevin Ross. Judge Ross believes in a brand of justice in which justice is about way more than simply banging a gavel. Each case is a learning lesson to Judge Ross and the litigants that enter his court room. Here is a sample:

The People's Court (Modern).

Modern "The People's Court" is ruled by Judge Marilyn Milian. I haven't seen a lot of the more modern installments of this pioneering judge show, but I have seen a few court cases on this show. Here is a sample court case with the Honorable Judge Milian:

Last, but not least... I can't have a discussion of TV judges without mentioning this figure:

The People's Court (Classic). (Honorable Mention!)

The classic and gold standard for TV judges was Judge Joseph Wapner. "The People's Court" has long been the premier court show on television, and Joe Wapner was one of the best at this. Joe Wapner passed away in 2017 at the age of 97. Here is an example of old style "The People's Court" with Judge Joe Wapner presiding:

When "Eye Opener" went defunct, "morning dose." was born. The CW Network's morning news show debuted in . Today and since October 2018, "morning dose." is all local in Houston and is three hours long. This morning show will be reviewed and mentioned by me with this blog post. Having a great day? The CW Network came up with a morning news show long ago called "Eye Opener" back in 2011. Here in the Houston area, it was the compliment for news in the morning since "NewsFix" launched in 2011 to replace CW39 News here in Houston. Eye Opener was handed early on in Chicago, Illinois, USA before production moved to Dallas, Texas, USA.. In 2017, "Eye Opener" would be replaced by a new morning news show called "morning dose." This "morning dose." was mostly run from CW33 Dallas. During commercial breaks, local CW networks would have their own anchors feature news updates and news segments. In 2018, "morning dose." went from a nationally-syndicated telecast to a local operation here in Houston for CW39 Houston. Today's "morning dose." is a three-hour long morning news show by the CW network's Houston affiliate, KIAH. This show runs on weekday mornings between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM on CW39 Houston.

Some of the main personalities include the following:

• Shannon LaNier - anchor
• Sharron Melton - anchor
• Maria Sotolongo - meteorologist
• Hannah Triplett - traffic, anchor/reporter
• Trey Serna - anchor/senior producer
• Maggie Flecknoe - host/reporter
• Courtney Carpenter - reporter

What makes "morning dose." different is that it offers your basic morning news, but it does so with youthful and fun flair. It includes even a handful of interesting stories maybe some of the more professional morning newscasts doesn't offer. A lot of social media stories as well as weird news and positive news are featured on "morning dose."

As with any usual morning news show, you get your usual check of weather conditions and traffic conditions. You also get your basic look at the latest news insight. Just that "morning dose." is all a good bit casual and not as serious.

(Some Of) morning dose.'s Segments.

Outside of many of the different news notes on the day, there are a few features that make "morning dose." stand out. Here is a description of some of them:

• With some topics, the Deep Dish segments have NOTHING to do with pizza. Instead, these are stories which warrant social media involvement and discussion. A question is presented as the morning dose. crew debates on certain issues.

• The Art Spot is devoted to artwork from local artists here in the Houston/Galveston area. This is artwork done mostly by students and are shared each week on "morning dose."

• For FOX 26 news here in Houston, there used to be a meteorologist named Lindsey Day. When she went elsewhere, Lindsey started to adopt a fitness regimen. That segment is part of "morning dose." as Fitness Friday. Lindsey Day offers exercises to everyone in this segment.

• Getting hungry? Why not check out a food truck? Food Truck Friday features food trucks around the Houston area offering great food.

• Where's Maggie? And who is this Maggie, anyway? Well... remember Maggie Flecknoe (who I blogged about a long time ago)? Well, the "Where's Maggie" segments feature Maggie at certain happenings and locations in around the Houston/Galveston area. These segments can range from going to fun restaurants to some more serious matters, such as the different ceremonies when George H.W. Bush died. Maggie was once the morning news anchor for "morning dose." before "morning dose." went local in Houston. Usually when it was Friday in the older days of "morning dose.", Maggie's position would be filled in by a lady named Meera Nandlal.

• Oprah has her Favorite Things. Well, Maggie Flecknoe has her Maggie Must-Haves. These "Maggie Must-Haves" feature a number of different items and goods that she adores and wants to share with you.


There is never a dull moment with what is covered and shown on "morning dose."

Even as "morning dose." went from replacing "Eye Opener" to even becoming all local (Houston), "morning dose." is actually a great morning news show. For me personally, having "morning dose." on between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM means I am better able to catch at least some of the show. It used to be on between 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM or so. I usually try to wake up each weekday morning before 9:00 AM.

Even as Maggie Flecknoe said once, "I can't make you a morning person, but I can make your mornings better." If you want a different kind of morning news show that still offers all the morning news you can handle along with something different, "morning dose." is about as essential to your mornings as your favorite breakfast.

Remembering Whitney Houston

While I was never crazy about her, Whitney Houston was one of the best singers ever. Her voice was powerful as well as sweet when singing. I can assure you someone may be doing karaoke with Whitney Houston as you read this. Unfortunately, Whitney Houston is longer with us. She died in 2012 from drug abuse. I don't intend this blog post to be a complete educational piece on Whitney Houston, but more like a look back at some of her music. Remembering Whitney Houston

Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born on August 6, 1963; and she died on February 11, 2012 at the age of 48. She was born in Newark, New Jersey, USA was one of the finest singers to ever live. Her music provided passion and power with such a fine singing voice. Whitney has even taken her talents to acting with movies such as "The Bodyguard" and "Waiting to Exhale" among her different actress roles. Whitney Houston has had a number of issues with drug usage. Despite such a beautiful career with her beautiful voice, she had some ugly demons to battle- namely drug addiction and substance abuse. She was found dead at a hotel in Beverly Hills, CA, USA after taking in a lot of drugs and found unconscious submerged into a bath tub. Whitney Houston's death only fueled the importance to discuss addiction and drug abuse. Today's landscape surely is mindful of the effects of addiction.

This part of the post pertains to some of Whitney Houston's music. Some of my favorites and ones I like will be featured here. Let's begin with a song a lot of people know Whitney Houston best for:

"I Will Always Love You."

If most people could choose one Whitney Houston song as their favorite, a lot of people would probably respond to "I Will Always Love You," and for good reason. Not only is this song from 1992 one of the best songs she's ever sung, but because of how powerful it is to sing. I even remembered hearing American Idol singers try to sing this song as the judges had their say. It is even a fairly complex song. Once the key changes to its powerful conclusion, good vocal depth and some good breathing is required to play the wonderful end of this song. No more words- just listen to this masterpiece of hers if you never heard it before:

"I Have Nothing."

This is a sweet song in its own right. The song flows very well and mixes in a lot of the power Whitney Houston brings to her singing. Here is a chance for you to hear her sing this song if you never heard it before...

This song is rather fun and happy. It is a feel good song with some good vibes being offered. The song plays on the same key and has the same overall flow as "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper. It is one of my personal favorite love songs of all time. Go ahead and have a listen to this feel good song if you never heard it before:

Whitney Houston's rendition of Chaka Khan's "I'm Every Woman" was done masterfully and sweetly. This is another sort of feel-good kind of song. Have a listen:

Cord Cutting

If television is boring or pricey, you want something to watch instead. These "cord cutters" are looking to things like Netflix, Hulu, Sling TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Roku and more for TV consumption. People want away with cable. Regardless, there are a number of different ways to enjoy television without being bound to a contract with Dish, DirecTV, and other providers. Even various series and such are shown exclusively on platforms like Netflix. This is a brief post regarding cord cutting.

Why Cord Cut?

To some people, people want better ways to enjoy television media. So people sometimes look to something like YouTube or Twitch. Some people who love sports but are dissatisfied with regular TV often look to live streams or highlights online. Some people even want a broader variety of content to view. A lot can be available online for viewing pleasures and catering to different entertainment tastes.

My parents have had Dish for 16 years before going to something else. We did Sling TV, and that was like... 30 second to almost a minute's delay with not as many channels to choose from. Then later, we went to XFINITY X1. I do like the XFINITY XI experience. Most of it, though, is to see my Houston Rockets and Houston Astros play on AT&T Sportsnet. Having lots of channels from Dish was something I missed. XFINITY X1 still gets the job done for me and my family, though. But even I look for something to watch on Android TV and my Android set top TV.

Should You Cord Cut?

You should probably consider cord cutting if you want to enjoy television without having to stick with the modern culture of television. Certainly if you're the binge-watcher, definitely enjoy the likes of Netflix and Hulu. While I don't watch television too much, I do admit I watch Twitch and YouTube for when nothing is really on regular TV. So I have my options for TV media consumption. If you want something different to watch from regular TV (and especially from a service provider), then check out the many cord cutting options available to you to enjoy television in a different way and with different sources.

• Android TV (more an operating system than some service)

• KODI (formerly XBMC)

Die Hard Trilogy

The first three Die Hard movies are featured in Die Hard Trilogy for PlayStation 1 and PC. You play as John McClane in three adventures in three different cities. The explosive (pun intended) action is what made the Die Hard movies iconic. In "Die Hard Trilogy," you will be involved in a handful of intense situations in trying to be the ultimate hero. This blog post takes a look at Die Hard Trilogy and the adventures you will be taking part in.

Die Hard Trilogy is a game that features gun violence, blood, and some mild language. It is rated "M" for Mature by the Electronic Software Rating Board (ESRB).

So you're bad, huh? Let's see how bad you really are with these three games.

Meet John McClane of the New York Police Department (NYPD). He seems to be a person who always seems to find trouble. I rarely discuss movies because I simply just have not seen too many movies. However, I have seen "Die Hard" and "Die Harder"- both excellent movies. I seen most of "Die Hard With a Vengeance." "Die Hard Trilogy" was released in 1996 for PlayStation 1 and PC. It features three games with three different disciplines- action, shooting, and driving. Each game feels different while also providing incredible action in all three. Now is time to take a look at what each game provides.

Die Hard Trilogy: Die Hard (Action).

Die Hard features plenty of action. This game is based on the 1988 movie, "Die Hard." You play as John McClane of the New York Police Department. You are sent in to rescue innocents held hostage by terrorists in Nakatomi Tower in Los Angeles. These terrorists are not only armed, but they have also rigged the tower with bombs. For John McClane to succeed, he must defeat the terrorists, save the hostages, and diffuse the bombs. A lot of work for sure. But still- John McClane is the one-man army capable of saving the day.

To win in this game, you need to defeat all of the terrorists on each floor. If you find hostages, rescue them while also making sure they don't get executed. It is recommended that you follow the hostages you saved so that they can safely escape. If they are executed (or if you accidentally kill them), you don't get credit for rescuing the hostages. Collect items like soda cans and First Aid kits to recover energy. Finding body armor also gives you an extra edge. You can also pick up other weapons for that offensive edge. Rather than your basic pistol, weapons like machine guns and shotguns with explosive shells can be found. When in a pinch, throw some grenades or something. Once you defeat all of the terrorists on one floor, a bomb will be triggered. You have 30 seconds to find the elevator shaft where the bomb is. If you reach the bomb, the level is complete. If you fail to reach the bomb, it will explode, and the game will be over.

Defeat as many terrorists as you can while limiting innocent casualties for the best scores.

Die Hard Trilogy: Die Harder (Shooting).

Based on the 1990 movie, "Die Harder," John McClane is in Washington, District of Columbia to battle terrorists whom have taken hostages at Dulles Airport. Die Harder is a shooting game. You can play this game with either a controller or a light gun. In the demo of Die Hard Trilogy, you play Die Harder. Your job isn't complete until you take out all of the terrorists while also minimizing innocent casualties. You'll have your hands full in this game. But you can handle it, right?

You have a limited number of lives to try to defeat the terrorists. When you defeat all or most of the terrorists, the level ends. The crosshairs point towards enemies in the area or items that can be collected. You have a few grenades and rockets you can use in case you are desperate taking out the terrorists. You can collect items to recover health or even gain some extra protection. You can even gain extra weapons for extra firepower. There are also certain areas where you can access bonus sections for more items and points. One last thing to remember about ANY light gun game- DON'T FORGET TO RELOAD!

To make the highest scores, try to defeat as many terrorists as possible while making sure not to kill innocents.

Die Hard Trilogy: Die Hard With a Vengeance (Driving).

This game involves driving. You return to New York City in this game based on the 1995 movie, "Die Hard With a Vengeance." You can play this game with a controller or with a steering wheel. There are bombs scattered around New York City in this game. Items you couldn't think could have bombs may be ready to blow. Obviously with this description, you know what your job is- destroy all of the bombs in the various parts of New York City. To do so, you will be driving around town making sure to find and destroy all the bombs. When all of the bombs have been destroyed in each area, you clear the level. Can you save New York City from being blown up?

Your goal in each level is to destroy all of the bombs in the area. You have only a certain amount of time to find bombs scattered across the level. You also have only a few lives to successfully clear each area of their bombs. It is very important you pay attention to the compass to try to find each bomb. Bombs are indicated by red arrows, and new cars are indicated by blue arrows. Your driving partner will even tell you to turn left or turn right to reach the bomb quicker. You must find each bomb in time before they detonate. Stationary objects aren't just rigged with bombs. Often times, vehicles can have bombs rigged to them that you must destroy. You must continually damage Bomb Cars to defeat them. Ramming into Bomb Cars will help to destroy them. Not to spoil anything, but you could be trying to destroy two bomb cars at once! Thankfully, you can find time bonuses that grant you extra time to find each bomb. So you don't like that boring car you're driving? You can find faster and more powerful machines to drive to help give you an added edge. How would you like a police car? A sports car? A dump truck? By the way, the compass shows new cars with blue arrows. If you need a little boost in your life, be sure to use a Turbo for an extra burst of speed. Sometimes, you may find an item where EMS will help you find a route to a bomb. Follow that machine to reach that bomb. Do whatever it takes to destroy all of the bombs. When all of the bombs have been defeated in the area, find the Exit to end the level. If you fail to defeat a bomb in time or if you drown in water, you will lose a life. When all lives are exhausted, the game is over.

For the best scores, try to destroy all of the bombs while also avoiding running over too many civilians.

Die Hard Trilogy: Review

All three games play very well. While none of them are graphical beauties, they do provide great action in each title. No one game is boring to play. They may be a bit frustrating at times, but never totally impossible. I played Die Hard Trilogy a long time ago and only beaten "Die Hard." You are going to be plenty busy and plenty engaged in each game. Even if you never seen any of the Die Hard movies or if you aren't a Die Hard fan, these three games in one are great.

Total Request Live (or TRL)

Remember when MTV used to be about music? Total Request Live, or TRL for short, was one of the few remaining shows about music. This show originating from about 1998 had on some of the hottest songs to date in a Top 10 format. The ten most requested music videos are played in each installment of this weekday show. Rather than start-to-finish replays of videos, most of them are usually just small samplings lasting for maybe two or three minutes. These brief plays even include fans giving dedications to others. For the most part, the show mostly featured High Schoolers and teenyboppers in Times Square.

In addition to music, Total Request Live even featured various famous persons from the entertainment world including recording artists and music groups. This further added to the star power that made TRL so liked among music fans and entertainment types in general. Many of the episodes of TRL were hosted by Carson Daly. The only other host I could remember before doing any researching this topic was Vanessa Minnillo.

TRL was discontinued in 2008. So this program lasted for about ten years while being one of the last few actual links to music from this music channel. Today's MTV is now mostly reality TV and re-runs of old shows and certain old movies. But in case anyone needed a reminder that MTV used to be about the music, TRL is a great reminder and one of the more successful music programs in the channel's history.

I chose this video to offer you what the atmosphere was like when TRL was on the air with enthusiastic fans. It is also fitting I mention this was in a different time of music culture.
