Espadrilles

Espadrilles are casual shoes that are fun for warm weather. They range from flats to wedges. The espadrilles I am most accustomed to are modest wedges that have a lovely ankle wrap to them. Some espadrilles have slingback designs and even peep-toe and open-toe designs. The base of most espadrilles are usually straw, cork, or something like that. I like to think of espadrilles (especially wedge espadrilles) as a casual alternative to dressy pumps. Because espadrilles are casual, it isn't really a good idea to go with espadrilles for a semi-formal or (especially) formal outfits. These days, more flat espadrilles are popular. These are simple slip-on shoes almost like a pair of low-top sneakers.

Believe it or not, espadrilles can even be stylish for men. I'm more used to feminine espadrilles, like these:

So how do you wear espadrilles? Almost with anything casual. One such look would be to go with a lovely pair of high-heel espadrilles with skinny jeans. To me, I LOVE espadrilles worn with long dresses. A maxi dress or a lovely long sundress would go great with a pair of espadrilles. A skirt or dress that extends just below the knees or to mid-calf would also be lovely with espadrilles. So almost any casual look would go well with these shoes.
