Girls Like Us

John B. Marine | 1/25/2019 10:01:00 AM | | | |
#girlslikeus is an #LGBT online show devoted to issues regarding transgenders and intersex individuals. While "Girls Like Us" usually relates to male-to-female transgenders, this show is an open forum on transgender issues. Very few topics are off-limits in the different episodes of this program in regards to transgender/intersex issues. I decided to showcase this online show for my audience here in my main blog. This blog post will fill you in on "Girls Like Us."

A Special Hello...

I'd like to offer a special hello to my transgender and intersex audience who may be reading this blog post. Same applies to all of my LGBT audience members as well as supporters of the LGBT community.

Girls Like Us

No matter what you think about anyone of any capacity of LGBT, there aren't too many places and spaces for discussion of various LGBT issues. At least on the transgender and intersex realm, "Girls Like Us" offers a forum for which discussion of transgender and intersex issues are expressed in various videos. While this is an open forum for transgender issues, this show may contain a few... uh, curse words. So it's safe to say that "Girls Like Us" can be a bit on the NSFW (not safe for work) side. For the most part, it is still worth a watch even to better understand transgender and intersex types.

Video Preview.

Let me give you an idea of what "Girls Like Us" has to offer for you. Here is a video introduction of the "Girls Like Us" program:

You seen the introduction above, so you know of the hosts of this online show. Speaking of the hosts...

The Hosts.

This is a brief look at the hosts of "Girls Like Us." Get to know them all:

Angel Qinan
This Filipino-American transgender is one of the hosts of "Girls Like Us." She is best known for her role in "Act Like a Woman." She is a registered nurse outside of her acting.

Kayla Ward
Of all of the hosts of "Girls Like Us," the one I know of best is Kayla Autumn Ward. I've followed Kayla's modeling work for a number of years and think she is a lovely and inspirational person. Kayla is also trying to break into the WNBA and have herself a solid career as a professional basketball player. Kayla documents her transgender journey in her Tumblr blog (or Tumblog) called "My Transgender Journey."

Ally Castillo
Ally is a transgender woman who has been a long-time makeup artist. She works alongside her transgender sister Angel Qinan. Together, both Angel and Ally have a presence known as "Sisters Like Us."

Carolina Gutierrez
Carolina Gutierrez is an award-winning transgender actress who also is into fitness as well as discussion of transgender issues with her Caroland channel.

Miliana
In a recent (as of January 23, 2019) episode of "Girls Like Us," a new host was introduced. Miliana is a part-Black, part-South Asian transgender.

With this sort of insight, this is a great program and a great medium for discussing issues among the transgender and intersex community.

Girls Like Us: Final Thoughts

Honestly, I believe you don't necessarily have to like transgenders or intersex individuals to appreciate "Girls Like Us." Anything that offers some sort of forum in regards to any LGBT type issues is commendable. The different episodes are all fairly interesting and worthy of watching. The hosts of this channel are all lovely ladies whose insight really matters. It is a different kind of talk show that is fairly engaging while also being mostly casually professional (just like my blogs!).

At least watch some of the different episodes of "Girls Like Us" to better understand different elements and issues of the transgender and intersex communities. If you even care to educate yourself on transgender matters, you owe it to yourself to watch "Girls Like Us." Maybe you are someone who has some interest in becoming any capacity of transgender. You too can benefit from the insight of "Girls Like Us" in this regard.

No matter if you want to be connected or educated on transgender and intersex issues, "Girls Like Us" has you covered like a blanket.

If Any of the Hosts or Production Crew are Reading This...

Keep up the great work with all that you do. Great for you to provide voices for the LGBT community (the transgender and intersex ones in this case).
