Women's Look - Little Black Dress + Hot Heels

(UPDATED 3/7/2010)

Nothing exudes sexy appeal quite like the little black dress. What enhances the appeal of the little black dress is a hot pair of high-heels. Here is a blog entry where I show you this popular kind of dress along with a sweet pair of heels. A hot pair of heels can include any of the following: high-heel pumps, peep-toe pumps, slingback pumps, strappy high-heel sandals, booties, or anything like that. It takes confidence to sport a little black dress and a hot pair of heels. If you're looking for '80s-esque looks (dress + leggings/tights), this is probably not the blog entry for you, Stockings are perfectly fine. If you're thinking of a little black dress with an average pair of flip-flops/thong sandals, this is not your blog entry. If you're thinking little black dress with some flats or kitten heels, I don't think this blog entry is for you. This is all about the confident diva willing to rock a little black dress with a sweet pair of high heels. Since it takes confidence to look and feel hot, I'll share the look with all of you. I'm inspired by one of my Facebook friends to talk about the combination of a little black dress and a hot pair of heels.

--- The Little Black Dress and Hot Heels ---
The little black dress (or LBD for short) is a sexy and hot dress. Its beautiful can never be exemplified without a lovely pair of shoes or sandals. It is the combination of a sexy LBD and a sexier pair of high heels that makes the look come alive. The look begins with a sweet little black dress and is topped off with a hot pair of shoes or sandals. Let's look at a few examples online.

The Look.

^ There's a reason why I didn't call this blog entry as "Little Black Dress and BLACK High Heels." These are three little black dresses by the Kardashian sisters. I don't watch "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," (not that I hate it or anything), so don't go hating on me just because I can't tell one sister from another. The one on the left went with a strapless number. Note how slimming the dress is. And nothing to me says sexy like a hot pair of open-toe or peep-toe pumps. Adding to the black look is her black bag. The little black dresses on the other two sisters are both lovely. The one in the center decided to go with a bold belt to add some extra style to the look. The one on the right has a metallic clutch as part of her look.

Here is a hot LBD here. The dress is very beautiful, and the model is wearing a nice pair of pumps. However, I can't tell if these are fully enclosed shoes or if they are some kind of peep-toe pumps.

So you want to try the LBD with some lovely heels? Let me see if there are some black dresses I can find for you along with some hot heels.

Now it's time to see if I can help find that little black dress and some nice heels to go with them. I'll start with the dress. This look is pretty much reserved for nightlife. Though, you COULD make some exceptions to try to go with a little black dress as a daytime look. But more likely than not, this look begs a party at night.

--- The Little Black Dress ---
Let's begin with a fairly basic little black dress.

^ The first dress I want to share is this ruffled tank dress from MY TRIBE. Maybe not overly sexy, but it's a nice start if you want a lovely LBD to wear. The ruffles shouldn't be too much of a deterrent (I personally love ruffles).

^ This dress comes in black and is very appealing. Enjoy the sexy figure of this dress. We're discussing little black dresses. But if you like this dress, it's also available in other colors (including black).

^ Here's another bebe dress. It's a pencil dress, so you know you're looking at a super-slim dress.

^ This is a little black dress for juniors. The right pair of pumps will make you the most beautiful girl in the pack.

^ Just because you're expecting doesn't mean you still can't look hot! It is a beautiful and sexy maternity dress with just enough beauty. So go ahead... be that hot momma you've always wanted to be! :)

^ Here is a little black dress made with the petite femme in mind. Since it's from Target, it doesn't cost a whole lot. This dress looks to be very versatile. Perhaps versatile to the point where you go could go with some casual pumps in the daytime, then go with some dressy pumps or sandals for the night. Little dress, big style.

Are you a plus size figure? I'll show you that even curvy types can fabulously rock the little black dress.

^ This is a plus size LBD for juniors.

^ This plus-size dress is low cut, but high on style. The rhinestone details add some sparkle and flash to this lovely dress.

Now you have some choices on the little black dress. Let's look at shoes next.

--- Shoe Options ---
Half of the equation is now complete. Now let's look for a sweet pair of pumps to make the look come alive. You don't have to go all-black. You may just want to mix things up with some color or with some metallics.

Pumps.
There are three options- (1) find a pair of closed-toe, closed-heel pumps, (2), find a pair of peep-toe or open-toe pumps, or (3) look for a sexy pair of slingback pumps. There are your "Let's Make a Deal" options... which door will YOU take? Let's look at three different pumps to prove the point I'm trying to make here.

(closed-toes)

^ This is a pair of pointed-toe stiletto pumps with an open side. If you fancy pointed toes, this is not a bad pair of pumps to go with.

(peep-toes/open-toes)

^ Here is a fierce pair of platform pumps. Personally, I love the little black dress with a pair of peep-toe pumps. They have to be either high-heel stiletto peep-toes or a very cute pair of wedge peep-toes.

(slingback pumps)

^ A slingback pump with a peep-toe design up front describes these pumps. The beaded details adds some extra charm to the overall appearance of these pumps.

Sandals.
Since we're talking about a stylish and hot look, NO flats or kitten heels will be discussed.

^ As these sandals come with a platform base and a high heel, the outlining of white adds some extra charm. These are both sexy and cute at the same time. If you're a fan of BCBGirls, these sandals beg for the feet of a beautiful and stylish diva to wear them. Are you that diva?

Booties.
Would you dare try ankle boots? Some femmes can make ankle boots look hot with almost anything. So why not?

^ The basic shape is classic. If you do like these, these are a nice alternative to pumps and sandals. I probably suggest you seek some of the suede ones as they come in more colors than the two black boots. There is also one patent leather version of these boots, only in black and only in a size 9 B(M) in US mesaurements.

So now you have some inspiration on the little black dress and on footwear choices. I am editing some of my previous blog entries (including non-fashion entries) to include these custom widgets I've set up to better be able to provide decent Amazon widgets to all of you. The widget below only includes little black dresses. Be sure to rock the little black dress with high-heel shoes with confidence!
