When temperatures rise or when you need to hydrate after exercise, water bottles help to keep you hydrated. Just fill them up with water and drink when thirsty. You could fill them up with water from home or from water fountains. It is best you use water bottles that are sturdy and that you can take around.
Water bottles come in a variety of sizes and styles. A basic water bottle can be plain colored, and more stylish ones can have fancy graphics to them. Some water bottles have either their own straw to sip from or have to be unscrewed to drink out of. It is even better to have a water bottle that is easy to drink out of. Find a water bottle that suits your needs and that you can carry around easily.
No matter what, be sure to get a water bottle to stay hydrated when it is warm outside or if you are trying to hydrate after exercise.

Drinking and smoking have never appealed to me. Despite this, some of the hottest issues of late have been vaping and e-cigarettes. There have been multiple deaths reported from vaping have been reported in August 2019. Government is even stepping in to regulate vaping. Some states, even have completely banned vaping. This blog post offers my own thoughts in regards to vaping.
Vaping
I tried to find a decent picture to set the mood for this blog post, but I thought otherwise since I couldn't find one. So you'll have to go on your imagination to know what I am discussing here.
What is vaping? As I understand it, vaping is a form of smoking that doesn't involve traditional smoking. Here is the definition Wikipedia provides:
"An electronic cigarette or e-cigarette is a handheld battery-powered vaporizer that simulates smoking and provides some of the behavioral aspects of smoking, including the hand-to-mouth action of smoking, but without burning tobacco. Using an e-cigarette is known as 'vaping' and the user is referred to as a 'vaper.'"
So according to Wikipedia, vaping is simulated smoking. Smoking in itself is dangerous as it is. Vaping has been seen as being even more dangerous than regular smoking. There is even a report that suggests vaping can also harm healthy teeth and gums also. Why vape, though? Well, people want to smoke whether usual smoking or this electronic smoking. Despite this willingness to smoke or vape, government is even stepping in to regulate or completely ban electronic cigarettes. This means brands like Juul are being fiercely regulated in trying to curb vaping. When researching vaping on Twitter, I even heard that some people smoked a regular cigarette after vaping. Regardless, vaping has its appeal to most people.
My Own Vaping Thoughts.
I do not use "John's Blog Space" or any other blog of mine to tell people how they should live. I am not any kind of hypocrite. There will likely be a strong contingent of people who will act against me or oppose any of my own ideas. I don't drink or smoke. Having said all of that, it may be best to say that the best way to prevent vaping is to simply not get involved in smoking- let alone vaping. I'm sorry... I just never found smoking or vaping to be "cool" or "sexy" or anything. It won't make you any less of a person just because you don't do any smoking or any variation of smoking (including vaping). If you still prefer to do any kind of smoking, that's up to you. I am not here to get in your way. However, if you are on the fence regarding smoking or vaping, I say the best thing you can do for yourself is to simply not get involved with smoking. And if you're trying to recover from smoking, get involved in one of those Stop Smoking programs or use things like nicotine gum.
These are my own thoughts, anyways. Feel free to agree or disagree to your heart's content.

My previous thoughts about drinking and smoking in general can be seen in my "John's Life Space" blog here:
This blog post is over. Here is my discussion question to you if you care to discuss this topic:
If you want to smoke, would you prefer smoking or vaping? What do you think can be done to better curb or regulate vaping?

Vicious circles have reoccurring problems that result in nothing getting done. Vicious circles (also called vicious cycles) involve the same issue(s) circulating, rendering us incapable of accomplishing tasks or achieving goals. Everything comes back to the same faults or weaknesses. Especially for people trying to do things like lose weight or get a job, some of the same problems arise with hardly any answer to break such circles and emerge. You try to accomplish something; but one problem leads to another problem, then another problem, then another problem... almost like you are driving forever on a highway loop with no offramp in sight. That is what being trapped in a vicious cycle is like. You want to get off that freeway but keep going in circles with no way to escape. You want to break that cycle so you can accomplish whatever it is you want to accomplish. However, vicious circles will prevent you from making magic happen because the same issue(s) will keep preventing you from completing certain tasks.
The opposite of a vicious circle/cycle is a virtuous circle/cycle; however, this blog post is about vicious circles. I am hoping again to address a not-so-nice topic and offer some positive and encouraging advice.
When Faced With Vicious Circles/Cycles...
So what can you do if faced with living in a vicious circle? The main goal is to try to have some kind of way to break a cycle that is tearing you apart inside and preventing you from living better or staying happy. Everyone's situation in a vicious circle is different. What is often done to try to help certain situations opens up several other possibilities and problems. A potent solution is what we all want when faced with such shaky situations. You find yourself finding other ways to gain comfort and control, but some of these methods could make things worse. For example, people drink alcoholic beverages or smoke to get over certain rough times or troublesome situations. These actions provide mostly temporary relief, but these actions can potentially make things worse. So the best way to break a vicious circle is to opt for something to provide more effective relief from pain. Rather than be locked into a no-win situation, find some sort of way to emerge from being caught up in a loop limiting your productivity. You may need some motivation from others either internally or externally. You still need to have some kind of way to overcome such odds and break from vicious circles.
Life has its fair share of moments where it seems difficult to live happily each day. Sometimes when you try to remedy bad situations or do your best damage control, certain solutions only lead to more problems or no definitive way to overcome problems. So consider your situation wisely and do not do anything that can only make things worse. The last thing you want when facing hard times is to have even more problems to deal with.
Do your best to break vicious circles in your life. Some negative never-ending cycles in life just need a little something to help make life and living enjoyable (as opposed to overly stressing). It won't be easy. Everyone's situation is different. What is most important is being able to find ways to break free from an endless loop of negativity rather than let such vicious circles take over your life. Having said this, be hopeful and strong.
It is always tough discussing certain life issues. However, I want to do my best to offer some kind of support or help. I don't have the answers to all of life's questions, and I do not work miracles. I am living life as best as I can- just like you are. There sometimes need to be moments where I actually give back rather than post nonsense all the time. I do what I can to inject some positivity to an otherwise negative world. If you appreciate my efforts, I would like for you to please Subscribe and follow this blog and my others. Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

Cancer sucks. Only cancers I like are those who are Cancers in the zodiac. The various forms of cancer can spell doom for most people. Many have had cancer and fought it off. Some are still in their own fights against cancer. Regardless, it is just crippling to imagine having cancer and trying to deal with it. With the various forms of cancer out there, it is terrible just to imagine how much damage they can do to us. One of the most encouraging signs is being able to detect cancer at an early stage to help in the treatment process. No matter what, cancer is absolutely terrible. All you just want to do in these situations is...
^ from: www.thefruitdoctor.com - Don't let cancer win. Take the fight to cancer and defeat it!
Some people deep with cancer may not have much longer to live. So in these cases, it is best to offer quality experiences just to offer peace of mind and to provide positive reinforcement while dealing with something as cruel as cancer.
Famous People Who Died From Cancer.
Many famous persons have died from some form of cancer. I will name only a few of them:
• Marvin Zindler (news reporter and investigative reporter here in Houston/Galveston media) - pancreatic cancer
• Steve Byrnes (FOX Sports NASCAR broadcaster) - head and neck cancer
• Buddy Baker (legendary NASCAR race car driver) - lung cancer
• Wes Craven (legendary horror movie director) - brain cancer
• Audrey Hepburn (famed actress and fashion icon) - colorectal cancer
• Peter Jennings (long-time journalist) - lung cancer
• Sherman Hemsley (comedian and actor) - lung cancer
• Steve Jobs (co-founder and CEO of Apple) - pancreatic cancer
So when it comes to cancer, it is no joke. These are among many people to die from some form of cancer. I want to wish those who are battling cancer well in winning their battle with cancer. Getting the best treatment and perhaps detecting it early will both make big differences in winning against cancer.
--- Cancer: Final Thoughts ---
This section includes my final thoughts in regards to battling cancer as well as offering some online resources in case you or someone you know is dealing with cancer. Please take a look...
Cancer: My Final Thoughts.
Most of you may know me for trying to bring positivity to a negative world. Dealing with cancer is absolutely a time where we need each other in trying to offer support and well wishes to people. Cancer can cut anyone's life short. People battling cancer need all the support and love they can get. Even if people don't ask for sentiments or support, at least it doesn't hurt to offer love and well wishes to those dealing with some form of cancer or cancers. So if you are someone you know is battling cancer, I personally would like to wish the absolute best to everyone trying to beat out cancer.
To those battling cancer, I want to extend to you my best wishes and hope you'll be well. To those whom have lost their battle with cancer or know someone who died from cancer, my condolences are with you, as I am terribly sorry for the tragic loss(es) among your family and friends. To those whom have had cancer and defeated cancer, congratulations! We need people like you to help encourage others that beating cancer is possible. You should be examples to show that we can be stronger than the cancer and not let cancer rule our lives.
To everyone in the health care industry helping others beat cancer, I want to thank all of you and salute all of you. Even more worthy of my respect is all the various hospitals and such worldwide researching new ways to help others defeat cancer. There may eventually be a time when cancer can be beaten easily and effectively no matter what stage it is in. While we await when that time actually comes (if it does), I am still forever grateful and thankful we have such strong support and vast resources to help battle cancer and defeat cancer. Support from fine doctors and nurses and such is very much appreciated to help us win against cancer. With further research and with loving support and care from others, we can cure (not just treat) cancer and enjoy living life again.
Once again- thank you doctors, nurses, hospitals, and other individuals in helping us battle cancer to those who have cancer.
Cancer: Causes and Organizations.
There are many people and groups committed to defeating cancer both minor and major. This section features various organizations and such committed to educating or helping end cancer. This section was meant mostly for my American audience. You may want to look elsewhere online for any online resources on cancer for your nation or for your native language. I am not sponsored by any of the groups I will make mention to. I am only offering this for those who may need some assistance.
• For my American audience, learn everything you want about various forms of cancer by visiting the American Cancer Society's official website at www.cancer.org.
• One of the more popular ones is Stand Up to Cancer, which you can visit their website at www.standup2cancer.org.
• Breast cancer is certainly a major cancer. The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation is the most popular group for breast cancer. Visit ww5.komen.org and shop for goods to promote breast cancer awareness at www.shopkomen.com.
• Have prostate cancer? Know someone dealing with prostate cancer? Visit www.pcf.org to visit the official site of the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
I may add some other resources in future posts, but I wish all of you the very best if you or someone you know is dealing with cancer.
This was a not-so-nice post here on "John's Blog Space," but I am pretty sure this topic is much appreciated to discuss and share. I care deeply and am committed to offering material that I hope will be beneficial and helpful. I hope this post is something helpful and useful to you and others. Your involvement with my blog(s) and the posts I make mean a lot to me. I never post anything that I think lacks any value or importance. Since we live in such a negative world, I just want to offer positive material in a sincere and heart-felt manner. This post has concluded for the most part.
My best wishes are with everyone dealing with cancer. I hope you are able to defeat cancer and return to living life and enjoying life.
Even with difficult topics, I try to offer something positive and helpful. I am not trying to be a hero or a visionary- all I want to do is provide positive energy and hope to those who may most need them. I hope you appreciate my efforts. On a lighter note, please Subscribe and Follow if you enjoy my online work. Thank you for reading. And more than ever, take care and be well.
Where would be be without water in this heat? Earlier today here in Houston, temperatures *officially* went past 100°F. The "Feels Like" temperatures here probably borderlined 110°F. Since most of your body consists of water, you need to stay hydrated to avoid exhaustion. If you sweat easily or lose fluids easily, it is best you try to stay hydrated in the heat. While it is a tasty option, soft drinks and certain other drinks may actually increase the rate of exhaustion. Sports drinks and water will probably serve you athletes well while dealing with the heat. Your best bet is to carry water bottles or have access to water fountains or water coolers. Be sure to find something to drink to stay hydrated when encountering heat.
So what I am trying to express here is...
^ from: www.cyberflexing.com - Stay hydrated!
That's all. Thanks. This has been a Public Service Announcement by your friend- John Marine. You're welcome.
This was merely a casual and brief blog post to help you all out. Not all the time do I come up with extremely detailed material, even though that is usually the trademark of my blogging material. I still provided something useful for my audience- the most important element of any of my published material. Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.
At some points, one has to learn method(s) of self-defense from attackers and threats. Such methods can range from hand-to-hand combat to the use of deadly weapons. As much as "John's Blog Space" is a positive space, this positive space even concerns topics I am uncomfortable discussing. I am in no way comfortable discussing violence and weapons. But to offer multiple topics and express multiple views, I will be looking to discuss this topic as best as I can, the best way I can.
BEFORE I BEGIN (DISCLAIMER):
Let me tell you that I am not comfortable discussing this topic. I do hope the available information in this post will be useful and educational. In no way do I condone or advocate any sort of violence. The information presented here is for educational purposes.
Usually, a topic like this requires some resources in case readers are interested. In this initial post, however, I am not including any resources to self-defense because I mostly intended this to be a general digest and commentary regarding self-defense. I may add some resources in the future if I feel this post gets enough attention from the general public-at-large.
--- Self-Defense at a Glance ---
Let me begin with something I rarely do- quote a movie. And I quote...
"...when I was growing up, (puts up fists) this was all the protection we needed. You win some, you lose some. But you live... you live to fight another day. Now you think you a man with that gun in your hand, don't you?"
-(a scene from the movie "Friday")
Self-defense is best described as one's ability to defend himself/herself from certain threats. The methods involved can range from hand-to-hand combat to the use of certain deadly weapons. No one person actually enjoys violence. There will be some times where as much as we don't want to fight, there are times where we eventually will have to fight. Why do so? The main reason is because someone is being targeted; and in an effort to protect ourselves, we have to learn to look after ourselves.
Learning self-defense is something everyone ranging from children to adults, males and females can learn and master. Basic self-defense involves hand-to-hand combat with methods like attacks and throws. A good non-lethal way of defense is in carrying mace spray. More extreme cases involve the use of concealed weapons- namely guns and knives. Self-defense isn't exclusively about proving your toughness by randomly attacking anyone. It is instead about being able to defend yourself without the assistance of others. Self-defense isn't pretty, but it is surely what has to be done for you to defend yourself.
--- Why Learn Self-Defense? ---
Why should one learn and utilize methods of self-defense? Well, nothing builds confidence in someone like the ability to protect oneself without the assistance of somebody else. There may be a person who may come around and help people who may be threatened by attackers. However, what if there is no one around to help you? You have to learn and apply methods to defend yourself when no one else is around. No matter how much you may cry for help, you may just have to take matters into your own hands- even if it results in getting injured or killed. In other words, even if someone is with you, pretend you are alone in the face of danger. How do you defend yourself? You may or may not have someone around to help you when in danger, so can you take care of yourself in the face of an attacker? It is important to try to find ways to protect yourself if in the face of danger from an attacker.
Learning self-defense sometimes exposes certain things or focuses on certain deficiencies. For example, there are various clinics and seminars for women to learn how to defend themselves.
--- Methods of Self-Defense ---
This picture sets the mood for this post:
^ from: belfast.olx.co.uk (best I could find) - Can you defend yourself if threatened by an attacker? You can find a number of ways to defend yourself, including (in this example) hand-to-hand combat.
One of the best methods of self-defense is in hand-to-hand combat. I think this is the best method because it involves you being able to defend yourself on instinct rather than having any sort of weapon. Defending yourself may mean you use the environment around you to assist you in taking down any threat(s) immediately around you. You may rely on attacking certain weak points (such as one's groin) of someone to quickly take down somebody.
Non-Lethal Self-Defense.
When one isn't able enough physically to defend oneself, one method of self-defense is to have pepper spray on hand. Pepper spray is usually used to spray into the eyes of an attacker. The spray will blind the attacker. This could either buy the would-be victim time to either continually attack the attacker or evade the attacker. Another method is the use of tazers or stun guns.
Lethal Self-Defense.
Now for the part of self-defense I am personally uncomfortable discussing- lethal weapons. Sometimes, the best method of going against attackers (especially violent ones), is to use lethal weapons. The most common of which are guns and knives. Self-defense with a knife involves being able to quickly avert a violent attacker by quickly subduing the threat quick a timely stab or slash against the attacker. Some people carry guns to defend themselves when faced with an attacker. Firing some shots will provide immense protection against real violent attackers.
The use of lethal weapons- especially guns, and especially in self-defense- has been subject to loads of controversy. Namely, the issues of gun control and self-defense. In recent history, there was the case involving George Zimmerman shooting and killing a teenager named Trayvon Martin. The controversial court case led to the ruling of George Zimmerman deemed not guilty, saying that this was done in self-defense. This ruling sparked outrage among many people when many people wanted justice for Trayvon Martin's death.
Another aspect of self-defense and lethal weapons is on gun control. Should you carry a gun to defend yourself? Are you going to actually use the gun to protect yourself from attackers? This is just another issue of the controversial and discomforting side of self-defense.
Other Methods of Self-Defense.
Animals often are used for self-defense. Law enforcement and some civilians have dogs trained to attack certain attackers or intruders. Such animals defend others from harm.
Animals as self-defense was really the only thing to come to mind for me with this section.
No matter what, self-defense is very much a varied and expansive issue.
--- Self-Defense: Final Thoughts ---
Learning some method(s) of self-defense is a valuable way to stay safe and be well. There may come times where you have to rely on you and your instincts to avert danger from any attackers. Danger can come at any moment, at any time, anywhere. How will you defend yourself? Can you defend yourself? Even at some of the most sketchy moments, you care more about trying to defend yourself at the expense of some attacker or would-be attacker. You can care less most of the time about who exactly the person is that you are defending yourself from. All you care about is living to see tomorrow at the expense of some attacker.
Self-defense, while a valuable concept to our own personal well-being, can be very controversial. What qualifies as self-defense? When does self-defense reach controversial and vaguely-defined limits? Self-defense is something to practice to help protect ourselves in the face of danger from attackers. Most people don't enjoy violence or having to fight; but if faced with a situation where our own well-being is threatened, we need to learn ways to defend ourselves. Think of self-defense as a tool or a technique to use in case of emergency. Just knowing you have something just in case you need to use it is always assuring and helpful. Even more so when you're able to utilize those skills in a tight situation.
I do not condone or endorse physical violence or the use of lethal weapons. However, there are times where these are the best ways to protect ourselves and ensure our safety. It's sort of "damned if you do, damned if you don't." Just the sad-but-true aspect of the society we live in.

I've done a lot of blogging here on "John's Blog Space!" Don't believe me? Look at these older posts with related topics:
"Gun Control" (John's Blog Space)
^ The difficult topic of gun control is featured in this post. I made mention of guns as a form of self-defense. So take a look at this topic for my thoughts regarding gun control.
"Domestic Violence" (John's Blog Space)
^ An equally difficult topic relates to violence among lovers. Some couples inflict physical violence out of self-defense. So I am including this topic to discuss domestic violence. This topic includes resources in case you need any resources to help you deal with domestic disputes.
That concludes this blog post.
--- Self-Defense: Resources ---
This initial blog post does not feature any real resources regarding self-defense. However, I may include some material you can visit in case you found this blog post helpful.
Self Defense: How Do I Get Started?
You could start by finding some online resources or some local services featuring self-defense classes and seminars. You can search online for various websites where you can learn how to defend yourself. Martial arts locations and such could educate you on defending yourself using hand-to-hand combat and even in using weapons. There are programs for children to adults, males and females, even material for those who are disabled or have some certain limitations. You need to find ways to defend yourself and learn methods to defend yourself. Whatever resources you can get your hands on, learn and master self-defense methods and mechanisms.
What are your thoughts concerning self-defense? What do you think people need to know about self-defense? Share your thoughts here in my blog post. Thank you for reading!
I salute my American beauties with this American Beauties series. The first in this series of posts features the largest region- the South. If you think "the best women are Southern," then this post will prove you right. Various personalities ranging from celebrities to bloggers will be featured in this post and others in the "American Beauties" series. Welcome to a new series of "Beauties" posts. And more importantly, welcome to "John's Blog Space!"
NOTE: Updates to the "American Beauties" series only pertain to contextual information, video additions, change of pictures, etc. Each post will be updated to include links to each post in the "American Beauties" series once new posts in the series are posted. Each post of this series will be linked so you can access all posts once the series is complete.

American Beauties Series
Beautiful American ladies. I love doing these "Beauties" posts regarding some of the world's loveliest ladies, but I have decided to go close to home for this series. What you will see here is my list of various beauties representing the United States. You may not know who I may feature. What you probably will be aware of is certain personalities I've showcased based on certain interests of mine. As you may be aware in my blog posts, while I do mention those in Beauties posts as women, some of my Beauties posts may NOT be exclusively feminine. So you'll see a little of everything.
Here is a preview of what all this series will entail. There is no really serious designation in picking out a set region for which to feature each location. I will break up my American Beauties focus into five individual regions:
American Beauties Series: Rundown.
Here is a look at how I'll be doing this:
• American Beauties - Southern (YOU ARE HERE)
(REGION: Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, District of Columbia)
• American Beauties - Northeast
(REGION: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine)
• American Beauties - Midwest and Central
(REGION: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan)
The region I will feature in this post is of Southern beauties. These consist of personalities from the South and Mid-South. I feature this section first in this series since I am from this region. It is the largest region I will feature since so many locations- 17, in fact- are part of it. I have defined a number of locations to comprise the "South" region of my "American Beauties" series. You will see personalities from or representing the following locations:
• Texas
• Oklahoma
• Louisiana
• Arkansas
• Mississippi
• Alabama
• Tennessee
• Kentucky
• Florida
• Georgia
• South Carolina
• North Carolina
• Virginia
• West Virginia
• Maryland
• Delaware
• District of Columbia
I used "locations" instead of "states" because of the District of Columbia- which is not a state. The personalities I feature don't necessarily follow a certain order as long as I mention them. I will try to find at least one personality from each location. As a result, expect no less than 17 featured persons. I may or may not succeed in finding personalities from each location, but I will definitely try.
Most of my "Beauties" posts are helped when I add pictures and videos to showcase the featured personalities. However, just mentioning certain people and putting in links is also helpful. I want to try to showcase certain personalities while also thinking of things like the performance of my site. So for some of these, you will see just a link mentioning the certain personalities. I do still hope you enjoy my tireless work. My Internet was down this past weekend, so I spent most of my time preparing drafts of blog posts.
Let's begin a new Beauties series!
American Beauties: South and Southeast
(REGION: Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia, and Washington, District of Columbia)
If you think the best girls are Southern, then you're going to love this one. You will be introduced to many Southern ladies. I'm going to start off the American Beauties region with my native region. All of the featured personalities are either natives of, or born in the region specified. This region consists of the Mid-South and the American Southeast. However, I am labeling it all as "South."
Click on any hyperlinked headers to visit their official websites or fan pages. I have also included links of various blog posts I've done in the past that may interest you if you enjoyed my featuring of each personality. Each featured personality is represented with at least one of the following: a link, a picture, a video, a blog post. I don't just name-bomb each featured personality.
I need to start with a fellow Houston-area lady to kick things off. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense to feature my native region without a native of this area.
Natalie Alvarado (also known as "Nat Boogie") was born in Clear Lake, TX, USA. She is best known for her hit "Goin' Crazy" along with her "Energy" song featuring Baby Bash. Natalie was a Houston Rockets Power Dancer who went on to become a recording artist. There was even a makeup line called "Goin' Crazy" named after Natalie's hit song. Speaking of which, here is that hit song from 2005:

One of my most famous blog posts on "John's Blog Space" features Shay Shaunte. This woman is a Houston native whom shows that curvy women can be every bit as beautiful as those slim and slender. She is a lovely lady whom I have great respect for.
Time to go from Southeast Texas to South Texas and talk about a sweet petite named Eva Longoria. (Born: March 15, 1975)-year old Eva Longoria is from Rachal, Texas. Many know the 5'2" actress for her roles in "Desperate Housewives." Here is an interview Eva Longoria did on The Dr. Oz Show:
Selena Gomez was born in New York City, but she is very much a Texas girl. She hails from a Dallas-area city called Grand Prairie. Many people know of Selena from Disney's "Wizards of Waverly Place." Many others know of Selena Gomez for her time dating Justin Bieber. Apart from acting, Selena Gomez has also shown her strength as a musician. She's sung a number of songs like "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" among others. Selena also has a band called The Scene. I think she is extremely cute and sweet. I think it was 2006 or so when I first seen Selena Gomez. Even in this time where there aren't as many good girls in the Hollywood scene, Selena really shines as a vibrant and positive personality. Even today, Selena Gomez does dress a bit sexy, but she still retains an extreme modicum of modesty and doesn't overstep her boundaries.
The rock star of Disney's "Camp Rock" and "Sonny With a Chance" named Demetria Devonne Lovato is simply... Demi Lovato. She's also a Texas girl, even though she was born in New Mexico- Albuquerque, New Mexico in fact. Demi is a bit more edgy than Selena but remains sweet for the most part. Demi also represents Grand Prairie, Texas. I usually know that wherever there was Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez was not too far behind.

There are multiple Dixie Carters, so I have to specify the one in question. I am referring to Dixie Carter- the president of Total Non-Stop Action (TNA) Wrestling. The average chauvinist or inconsiderate jerk would say something about women not worthy of or supposed to manage a professional wrestling promotion. Dixie Carter never got the memo. She is a beautiful (born October 6, 1964)-year old who manages the biggest professional wrestling promotion not named World Wrestling Entertainment. She is from Dallas, Texas and very much Southern, though she calls Nashville, TN home.

While Texas has some beautiful ladies (maybe I'm a bit biased :D), one of the most beautiful Oklahomans is no doubt Reba McEntire. This country music legend has one of the finest voices past or present in country music. She has even lent her talents to acting. While I haven't seen the "Reba" comedy series, I do respect her for taking her talents outside of music. Even Mr. I-Don't-Listen-to-Country-Music me has tremendous respect for Reba McEntire.

Having anger is healthy. How you manage it, though, can make a big difference. Some people can manage being angry to where they get upset while not completely losing it. Some others... well, they'll go on tirades and don't want to be bothered. Some angry people can be violent and physically abusive. The scary thing about being angry is that a person has a certain capability of anger that we don't even know we have. It is like finding a beast within you that needs just the right cue(s) to be unleashed. And unfortunately, anyone in the immediate path may fear an angry person's wrath.
Here is a brief post of mine regarding anger. You are reading "John's Blog Space"- my main blog and the main space of my blogging universe.
--- Anger ---
Feel the need to vent? We all do. Anger allows us to unleash our pent-up frustration so that we don't let it consume us. One needs to be careful as to how he/she channels that anger, though. Anger can drive us to become extremely hostile and destructive when channeled improperly. Some people even break things around them or even do psychotic things like punching walls and glass. As I mentioned in the introduction, anger sometimes make us realize just how hostile and unstable we can be when pushed to the limit. Face it- you can be a very sweet person... until someone makes you extremely angry to where you become beast-like. You go from friendly to wanting to fight somebody. You go from humble to borderline psychotic.
In the aftermath of any extreme anger, we begin to realize what insanity we committed and begin to think: "I did THIS?" That is especially if you did something REALLY out of the ordinary while in (dare I use this expression playfully) Beast Mode.
Sources of Anger.
So what constitutes to being angry or going on angry spats? People may do these sorts of things that lead to being angry:
• violently screaming
• desire to inflict physical violence towards someone or something- even themselves
• becoming frustrated or annoyed
• seeking revenge against a loved one being hurt, injured, or killed
• being pushed around by peers or other people
• being dealt a negative or unfavorable outcome
Imagine taking all of these factors and still trying to suppress your anger as best as you can. It is never easy, but it can be done. It all depends on how much you are willing to make sure you aren't consumed entirely by your own anger.
Some Self-Admittance.
I will admit myself- I can be very angry when pushed just the right way. Being frustrated or rubbed the absolute wrong way (so to speak) results in me ready to lash out at someone or something. I can be hot-blooded despite being a mostly humble fellow. Naturally at times, I get to feel sad after being angry. As if I'm happy to get anger out of my system, but then enter this sort of "Recovery Mode" to return to my normal self. Everyone has natural reactions to almost anything- anger included.
Anger Management.
It is okay to be angry, but managing your anger is key. You may need to seek methods of anger management if you need help dealing with your anger. Got to learn to control that anger as best as you can. Need help managing anger? These are some of many online resources that may interest you:
No one knows what exists in our minds as we dream in our sleep. The thoughts in our subconscious minds lead us to happiness or fear. Certain thoughts may cross our mind in our sleep that make us feel different ways. Sweet dreams or bitter nightmares? For many people, a range of dreams and emotions take us over in our sleep as we dream. Depressed persons may experience certain visions which haunt us once we awake from the nightmares. This blog post is all about having dreams and nightmares.
--- Dreams and Nightmares ---
^ from: mairedubhtx.wordpress.com - What did YOU dream about last night (or recently)? Where has your subconscious mind taken you while asleep?
Once sleep takes over and your mind is someplace else, any number of things can fill your mind.
Dreams.
So did you have any good dreams lately? Some things help us to feel better as we sleep. Dream examples:
• visions of a happy life
• achieving a major accomplishment
• finding love
• reliving a happy moment from the past
• having a unique, funny, or unusual experience
Certain dreams can really help us feel better. Most dreams we often have are positive experiences limited only to our imagination. That same experience can also pertain to weird and unusual experiences. For example, a male may have a vision that he is a female. How much different would the world around this individual be? Maybe a girl about to get married has the most beautiful wedding in a fabulous setting- perhaps at a lovely cathedral, in a beautiful dress, with stars twinkling and the moon glowing. A little boy or a little girl may envision having superpowers and can do almost anything. These dreams can be either positive or downright weird.
Some dreams stay with us and help us to imagine or hope these dreams can actually come true in our lives. Sometimes, dreams seem too good to be true. Dreams tend to be so real and so good that we only wished they actually happened. You can dream all you want about living in a mansion and driving an expensive car, but you still live in an apartment driving around in a beat-up economy car from the early 1990s. You may dream marrying a sexy supermodel, but rather than hear that supermodel's voice, you end up waking up to your mother, who still calls you "pookie." Some dreams can be TOO real and TOO good in comparison to reality.
But sometimes, these come along...
Nightmares.
Nightmares may come along and tear us apart inside as we sleep. Nightmare examples:
• a traumatic experience
• extreme failure
• fearful and intimidating moments
• fear one's current life is not getting better any time soon
• experiencing serious injury or death
Some of these nightmarish moments get us to violently wake from our slumber in fear- almost as if we wake up after hearing a loud thunderstorm or some other loud noise. We wake up feeling terrible inside. We realize a few moments later that they were just bad visions. I know there are times where some nightmarish things may really happen to us, but when dreaming, bad visions just popped into our minds and have us feeling terrible. Some dreams can be very realistic. Imagine a successful person has a nightmare about losing everything and being brought down to insignificance and shame. The love of one's life may do something to tear apart a once-loving relationship. A parent who fears the worst for his/her child(ren) actually witnesses a fearful moment the child(ren) has/have. A person from someone's past may come along to threaten one person's life. Some nightmares can be so impactful that they can haunt us for the day ahead.
At the worst, nightmares can be a sleeping disorder. They can take over our lives for that one day or for multiple days. We need all the help we can get when certain dreams become brutal to us.
We all will have dreams and nightmares. How we treat certain subconcious thoughts help us to either feel better or feel progressively worse.
--- Dealing with Dreams and Nightmares ---
There are different ways of treating both dreams and nightmares. One thing people mention is being able to think about what you actually dreamed about when you slept. Can you remember what crossed your mind as you were sleeping? How did you feel after having that dream or that nightmare?
Dealing With Dreams.
Dreams can be positive or a peek into things we wish to see and experience. There is nothing wrong with wanting to experience memories and moments that make us happy. Remember my blog posts about not being good enough or looking back at happier times? Well, these can be happy thoughts in our sleep. Some dreams help motivate us to do better and make certain dreams come true. I know I often times dream of many things. For one- I wish I could profit more from blogging and get many more views and loyal fans than what I have at present. I dream "JohnMarineTube" (my YouTube channel) getting more subscribers and actually feeling successful in videos. These are times where I just see myself in a better position than where I am at present. As I try to broaden my appeal online, I even dream that I actually had money to buy certain things that I want to review on my "John's Shop Space" blog. Either that, or have some kind of deal set up to where I could maybe get offers to get, test, and [eventually] review top-level electronic devices I want to review. But it isn't like I make my own money for this to actually happen. Remember- whatever I make financially depends on AdSense and Amazon Associates. Do these dreams push me to do better? Absolutely.
Some dreams even involve having things we don't have. Such examples include me sitting on the floor at a Wal-Mart looking at all the iPod Touch boxes in stock, envisioning when I will finally have enough money to get one. Not all things we wish we have cost money. Some dreams may simply involve having that loved one in our lives actually be our future spouse. Different dreams have varying levels of desire to come true. However, certain dreams drive us further than we are capable of. So you have to set certain limits and know what is actually possible and feasible.
Dealing With Nightmares.
I will make some personal admittances on the nightmare front. As someone who's dealt with episodes of depression and sadness, there are times where I have dreamed of things that just tear me apart as I sleep. I have experienced moments where I have felt powerless and weak to either prevent something bad from happening or do something I normally wouldn't do even on my worst days. There were moments in nightmares where I felt like everything was my fault, and I paid for them dearly. Some nightmares involved worst-case deals that have me feeling terrible to have to experience in reality. I even have had some nightmares where I actually experienced serious injury or death. I even envisioned nightmares where I was all alone and had to live on my own with no support from friends or family. I try to be as near-perfect in all things that I do, but in reality- I am accident-prone and often lament making mistakes, especially those I know I could have prevented.
Nightmares can REALLY take you for a loop depending on the nightmare and what it involved. You can lose sleep and not feel as refreshed when you wake up. You may even fear living that very day! However, it is tough to remember that certain dreams and nightmares are just negative thoughts we awake from. Certain nightmares experienced did not happen to us just now. Could the worst actually happen as we're awake? Absolutely. However, not in our sleep. It may also be possible a traumatic experience may haunt us in our sleep to where we may possibly die in our sleep.
Regardless of dreams or nightmares, there is no telling what goes on in our minds and what we actually experience as we are asleep. Each are different to address. What is most important is to really remember what crossed your mind as you were asleep. If a certain dream haunts you or if certain elements of a dream haunt you, you may need to discuss these things with a loved one for help (especially in the case of nightmares).

Bicycles are enjoyed by many walks of life ranging from children to adults for reasons ranging from recreation to sport. This is two-wheeled fun for many reasons and applications. Push those pedals and be on your way to a fun ride. Or if you're the more adventurous or rebellious kind, you're into mountain biking or even BMX stunts. Whatever the case, bicycles may well be worth your time. This blog post is all about bicycles.
I haven't been on a bicycle since childhood. Do not think that this is any information based on personal experience or anything like that. I am simply providing all of this for entertainment and educational purposes.
WARNING: This post includes a number of YouTube videos. Your viewing performance may be slow depending on your connection. You may view the individual videos in links if you are unable to view any of the videos.
--- Bicycles at a Glance ---
^ from: bicycletouringpro.com - Two-wheeled fun awaits you when you ride a bicycle.
A lot of us may have started out riding tricycles. I certainly remember riding tricycles before moving up to a bicycle. My memories even include riding a bicycle with training wheels. Bicycles have been around since the 19th Century. As with most inventions, the bicycle has been enhanced and innovated over time to become and remain a fun form of both transportation and recreation. Some cities and nations have bicycles as the most effective mode of transportation.
I remember when I was younger and had a bicycle. I previously had a scooter that I enjoyed riding. My first bicycle had training wheels since I was not comfortable going on two wheels yet. Over time, I would learn to properly ride a bicycle and be able to ride it properly. I sometimes challenged a little girl to a race when at my grandmother's house. I would be on my scooter while she was on her bicycle. We had to go to this one intersection in our neighborhood back to my grandmother's house. Fun times. One time, I even once had a dirt bicycle. I think it was too big for it and didn't get to ride it too much, though.
--- Kinds of Bicycles ---
A bicycle from a retailer can cost anywhere between $100 US Dollars (or less) to even four-figure US Dollar amounts! Some of the more expensive bicycles (namely racing bicycles) have carbon fiber construction and can be quite expensive. Bicycles are usually sold based on the wheel width. Some bikes even have gears to them. So not every bike is created equal. Here are a few different kinds of bicycles (thanks: about.com):
Road Bicycles.
^ from: www.amazon.com - A men's road bicycle from Schwinn.
These bikes were meant to take on concrete and asphalt. Bikes like these were meant to be ridden around the neighborhood or in the park. They can even be performance-ridden as you could compete in bicycle racing events with road bikes. A number of manufacturers make road bicycles... even including Mercedes-Benz and Peugeot!
Mountain Bikes.
^ from: www.amazon.com - A Men's Mongoose mountain bike.
Mountain bikes are rugged and durable bicycles. They are best made for taking on natural terrain, yet many others do have them around town or on tarmac. Mountain bikes have wide and rugged tires. These are performance bicycles meant to take on undulating terrain.
Hybrid Bikes.
^ from:www.amazon.com - A women's hybrid bicycle from Schwinn.
The hybrid bicycle is best suited as a happy medium between road bikes and mountain bikes. You get the ruggedness of a mountain bike coupled with the city-happy nature of a road bike.
Cruiser Bicycle.
^ from: amazon.com - Women's Pacific cruiser bike.
Just like cruiser motorcycles are meant more towards style than outright performance (as opposed to sporty motorcycles), cruiser bikes are meant more towards style than being some kind of performance-oriented bicycle. Only difference is that nobody will look at you as a poser/poseur on a cruiser bike compared to a cruiser motorcycle. :)
BMX Bikes.
^ from: www.amazon.com - A Mongoose BMX bicycle.
BMX stands for "bicycle motocross" ("X" instead of cross). Think of these like non-motorized dirt motorcycles. They are best known for pulling off stunts like most motocross and supercross riders do. BMX bicycles are meant for those action sports types who ride while doing tricks. Everything from bunny hops to rail riding is what the BMX rider is all about. They are the rebellious riders who are all about pulling cool tricks and being real cool while riding.
These are the basic kinds of bicycles. Have you a favorite kind of bicycle?
--- Bicycles for Recreation and Sport ---
Before I begin the next section, I would like to thank the people who allowed their videos to be embedded. It's great to know my readers could view these videos without having to leave my blog (not to say that my readers/visitors would rather be any place besides "John's Blog Space").
Bicycles for Recreation.
A bicycle can be a fun way to go around the block or through the park. Think of kids who enjoy going around on bicycles as they ride. There are older bike riders who may enjoy bike riding at a park- whether a city park or a dedicated skate park. Whatever the case, a bicycle can be fun to ride around on. Some people even have their own custom bicycles. Bicycles are as much a casual expression of who we are as any other thing. Basic bicycles to creative bicycles are out there for riding enjoyment.
Want to make a scene and have fun? Try a tandem bicycle! Tandem bicycles are meant to have more than one person ride along with others. When coming up with this blog post, one person's YouTube channel shows that there is an actual science to tandem riding. While it may seem cute to have more than one person riding one bike, check this video out for more insight on tandem riding:
Some people make custom bicycles; some even turned into tricycles. Look no further than with Lowrider bicycles. These bikes may have custom-made frames and accessories while also being fully tricked out. Talk about riding in style! Check out the lowrider bikes in this video:
In the sporting realm, bicycles have been great for working out. There are stationary bicycles
Bicycles can also be great sporting equipment for those doing outdoors sports. There are a number of people who'll ride their bicycles in outdoor settings. Mountain bikers ride their bikes on some undulating and hilly trails. Here is an example of mountain bike riders going all-out:
Those into action sports have seen bicycles being used at skate parks and at half pipes. Dave Mirra is one of the finest in performing amazing stunts and tricks on a bicycle. He is a multiple-time champion of BMX competition. A lot of these stunt bikes have bars on the wheels so they can pull off tricks riding on rails. This video below is an example of BMX stunts. This is Morgan Wade and his gold medal run in the Action Sports World Championships round in 2007 in Dallas, TX, USA:
And of course... let's not forget those who take part in bicycle tours and rallies. Here in the Houston area, we have a famous event called the MS 150, a 150-mile bicycle rally from Houston to Austin benefiting the fight against Multiple Sclerosis (or MS for short). There are many cycling events worldwide. The most of famous of which, is of course... the Tour de France. This is a look at how brutal bike rallies and tours can be:
You now know about cycling both for recreation and for sport.
--- Bicycle Safety and Gear ---
When riding a bicycle, are you geared? Do you know about being safe while riding? A few pieces of advice are mentioned here in this section.
Bicycle Gear and Parts.
Here is a brief look at bike parts and accessories.
• Training Wheels - if you're starting out trying to ride a bicycle, training wheels are a great way to start. I remember I had training wheels on my bicycle once I went from a tricycle to a bicycle.
• Custom Saddles - bicycles may have custom seats designed for various applications, ranging from racing to just average bike riding. Some seats are even recommended by doctors and physicians.
• Baskets and Carts - some bikes can be equipped with carts for carrying around things safely.
• Water Bottle Cage - if you have a water bottle, equip one to your bicycle to be able to take water with you on the go as you ride.
These are among many other different items and accessories for bicycles.
Bicycle Apparel.
Most casual bike riders usually wear street clothes. Serious cyclists usually wear specialized cycling apparel. Some of these items include bicycle jerseys as well as bike shorts. There are also bib shorts worn by cyclists, which are kind of like overalls for cyclists. There are also shoes and socks specially designed for cycling. Here is an example of someone wearing dedicated cycling apparel:
^ from: redkiteprayer.com (best I could find) - This men's cycling outfit is an example of what cyclists wear as part of their outfit.
I am not any kind of cycling expert, but my best guess is that wearing such bicycle apparel helps you better perform as you're cycling. Those who compete in bicycle races will probably find wearing dedicated cycling apparel to better help you aerodynamically as you ride. Those bicycle racers often tuck down (just like motorcycle racers do) as they ride to get as little wind resistance as possible while at speed. Some cyclists wear bicycle gloves for protection and better grip.
For female bicyclists, there are special active skorts designed for those who want to wear a skirt while still being covered. These cycling skorts have attached shorts or bloomers to keep a cycling girl covered while also looking cute. There are even cycling dresses from one site I saw in preparing this blog post.
Bicycle Safety.
A riding helmet is the best method of protection. It is also a good idea to invest in knee pads. These (especially a riding helmet) can be very helpful to have if in the event of a head-on crash. I thankfully have never experienced an incident where I was thrusted off of my bicycle for all the times I've ridden a bicycle.
It helps to wear light-colored clothing, especially if riding at night. Speaking of night bicycle riding, have reflectors at the front and the back so you can be better spotted in darkness. Don't also forget to let people behind and in front of you know when you're turning. Links to much more detailed bicycle safety measures will be showcased later in this blog post.
Equally important in all of this is making sure your bike is secure and protected. Be sure the bike is properly secure to a bike rack with a lock and a cable.
I hope you all are able to dress nicely and ride carefully while riding your bicycle.
--- Bicycle Manufacturers ---
Click on the hypertext link in each heading to visit the official websites of these bike manufacturers. The majority of these are mostly suited towards my American audience. I am not sure if any of these can ship overseas or are also available in other nations. These are only a few of so many different bicycle manufacturers and retailers:
