Welcome to #WaybackWednesday! Usually in social media, we have "Throwback Thursday" where we share memories of the past. There is also "Wayback Wednesday." As I share videos of old stuff among my Facebook friends and family on Wednesdays, I will experiment with making my selection of songs for "Wayback Wednesday" in my blog. I may try this again another Wednesday; I may not. Either way, I am always looking for new ways to engage my audience and bring traffic to my blog. So thank you for taking part in this experiment.
About the Label: Wayback Wednesday
Currently, it is an experiment. "Wayback Wednesday" is something I do on Wednesdays in my Facebook profile where I share old material to my friends, mostly in the form of YouTube videos, and mostly music videos. I try to feature different material every Wednesday to interest my friends. It was only recently I experimented featuring these "Wayback Wednesday" posts in my blog as opposed to just my Facebook profile page.Depending on traffic and attention, this may become a regular feature to my blog that I will try to contribute to every Wednesday. If unsuccessful, I'll just go back to doing this for fun in my Facebook profile page. This is just an experiment as of this post.
LATEST UPDATE(S)/REVISION(S):
OCT 15 2014 - edited some text, added graphic--- Wayback Wednesday: How it Works ---
Welcome to Wayback Wednesday on John's Blog Space!
Most of what I select for "Wayback Wednesday" primarily consists of music videos. Rather than share with fans, I usually share YouTube videos among friends in my Facebook profile. Most of what I share are selections based on a certain group of songs I want to feature. I want to label it as "Wayback Wednesday" for the sake of hashtag usage. The proper person in me knows it is "Way Back Wednesday" rather than "Wayback Wednesday." The main criteria element is that the material must be at least five years old. So as of this blog post, all Wayback Wednesday features material from 2009 or earlier. Nothing from 2010 or later will be featured. All Wayback Wednesday selections go in chronological order from earliest to oldest. So more recent material is featured before going to least recent material. For example, a song from 2003 will be shown followed by a song either from that same year or before 2003.
Here's the quick rundown:
• material that is at least five years old is featured.
• selected material is from more recent to less recent.
• not every selection is music.
This is a sample post:

I decide to post just a link to the video rather than slow down the performance of my blog with embedded YouTube videos. Links to some videos may or may not be available all the time. You're basically clicking at your own discretion in this sense.
Depending on traffic and other considerations, I may start this as a common feature of my blog. Having said all of this... let's begin!
--- Wayback Wednesday: Selections ---

Wayback Wednesday: October 8, 2014
• Justice - D.A.N.C.E. (2007)This has always been a fun song with a nice vibe to it. Feel free to have a listen to this song and enjoy the cool vibes offered by this song.
• Crystal Kay - Hard to Say (2002)
Crystal Kay is what some would call "Blackanese" or "Blasian." These are terms given to Afro-Asian people. She is Black but with some Korean blood. Anyhow, Crystal Kay is a great Japanese pop star. This was about the first song of hers I heard. This is Crystal Kay with "Hard to Say."
• MISIA - Everything (2001)
This is my all-time favorite song from JPOP song from the amazing Misaki Ito, better known as MISIA. This song lasts almost seven minutes, and just about each minute is wonderful. So go ahead- enjoy this beautiful song! :)
• Utada Hikaru - Can You Keep a Secret? (2001)
Utada Hikaru- also nicknamed "Hikki"- was one of the first JPOP stars I enjoyed listening music to. She was born in New York City and is actually four days younger than me. There were very few songs of hers I disliked. This is the first real song of hers I heard and liked. Can you keep a secret?
• PPK - Resurrection (2001)
Time to please you trance fans now. This is a classic from PPK called Resurrection. Enjoy, mates!
• BT - Never Gonna Come Back Down (1999)
For a song simply to be called as "Never Gonna Come Back Down" is surely a song to infuse some motivation. BT made it. This one is a classic tune from 1999. Enjoy this one!
• Mariah Carey ft. Ol Dirty Bastard (1995)
Me and Mariah. We go back like babies and pacifiers. Ol' Dirty Dog no liar. Keep your fantasy hot like fire. JUMP JUMP! Here is a tune from Mariah Carey called "Fantasy." While the song itself is good, it was better with Ol' Dirty Bastard of the Wu-Tang Clan. Ol' Dirty Bastard- which is not one of my nicknames or any accurate description of me- was perhaps the most charismatic and most engaging member of one of hip-hop's all-time greatest groups. So with this song, enjoy the combination of Mariah and ODB.
• Jumpin Jack Boy - WANDS (1993)
A rock song called "Jumpin Jack Boy" obviously will not stir any excitement among most circles. This song is actually quite cool. WANDS is one of the coolest J-ROCK bands ever. Enjoy the melodic coolness of this song.
• Whitney Houston - I Have Nothing (1992)
The late Whitney Houston has had a number of great songs. Some of which, I've focused in Wayback Wednesday posts on Facebook. This song is a lovely and powerful song. If you haven't heard of "I Have Nothing," go ahead and give this one a listen.
• Bobby Brown - Humpin' Around (1992)
It's Wednesday. It's Hump Day. Some people call Wednesday "Hump Day." So to that cause, why I don't offer you some Bobby Brown? 'Cause ain't nobody humpin' around!
• Lionel Richie - All Night Long (1983)
Get ready for this jungle-style song released in 1983. It is a wonderful song with a nice sort of vibe to it. This song was used in a Mountain Dew commercial years ago. Lionel Richie is ready to go all night long. Are you?
• Marvin Gaye - Sexual Healing (1982)
My mother told me about the dark fate Marvin Gaye suffered. Can you imagine your own father disliking you? So much so... to the point of a father killing his son? It's terrible. When it comes to Marvin Gaye, this is one of Marvin Gaye's finer songs. Come get some sexual healing from the great Marvin Gaye himself with "Sexual Healing."
• Roupa Nova - Tema da Vitoria (1981)
The winner of the F1 Brazilian Grand Prix is played "Tema da Vitoria." This song was first released in 1981. This is a wonderful tune to listen to. Enjoy this one.
• Bee Gees - How Deep is Your Love (1977)
The Bee Gees are up next. Smooth vocals and lovely instrumentals are what you can enjoy with this song. This is a fabulous song. Enjoy it to the fullest.
• Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive (1977)
Finally, more Bee Gees. This time, get ready for a positive piece of music here, because it's all about stayin' alive, man! 1977 love coming your way. Where were you back then?
That concludes the first time I did a "Wayback Wednesday" post outside of Facebook.
Again, depending on a number of factors, I may continue make this a regular piece of my blogging work, or I may abandon doing a blog post altogether on this. Let me know what you think about these old songs. Thank you for reading!
